A peek a boo in our class Morning Greeting and Circle Time During this teacher says a small good morning rhyme using puppets. Every morning routine may look a little different according to your playgroup curriculum requirements. This starts with reading the calendar (date, day and year) and weather of the day. introduce a letter, shape, colour, number or theme; and have Show & Tell. A small gist about different things that will be done in the class. This helps to have social interaction, learn new vocabularies and helps them to settle in the school environment. Jiggy Wiggy Time During jiggy wiggy time, learners learn about music, musical instruments, and rhymes. Rhymes are a child’s first experience with words. When actions are linked to words in the rhyme, it helps boost motor skills and improves rhythm and movement. Improves memory, concentration, spatial intelligence, and thinking skills. Learning Stations During the learning station, time learners work independently in small groups. Different activities are planned by the teacher according to their plan of the day. Learners explore different centres as they move around the classroom. Snack Time Snack time is a great opportunity to interact with peers and try new food. Learners try to discover their food through careful tasting, smelling, and touching. Gross motor / Sensory Play Gross Motor (physical) skills are those which require whole-body movement, and which involve the large muscles of the body to perform everyday functions, such as standing and walking, running and jumping, and sitting upright at the table. Sensory Play Leaners and even adults learn best and retain the most information when they engage their senses. Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage learners to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore. Special Inclusions Designed specifically for your child to foster creativity, emotional, physical and social development with knowledge and understanding of themselves and the world around them. Learners will get hands-on experience on STEM, Robotics, Around the world, Montessori, Zumba & Yoga. Reflection and Closing Circle Closing circle is an effective strategy for bringing closure to the school day in a fun and meaningful way. By ending the day on a refreshing, reflective note, the closing circle reinforces the sense of reflection and safety that teachers strive to develop.
